Well, i'm venturing in worlds unknown but this is pretty cool- a blog hop tour.  This “tour” is similar to a chain letter for those who like to know more about the behind-the-scenes details of a book.  My friend and author Susan Mathis answered some questions about her new book and now its my turn.

Here are few writer/ blogger friends I am tagging as well. Check out their blogs and books!

What is/was the working title of your book?  The Marriage Turnaround- How thinking differently about your relationship can change everything.

Where did the idea come from for the book?  Working with couples for over 20 years. Most of their focus was on changing behavior- stop berating each other, start communicating better, 5 steps to better sex, etc.  But I had seen through working with 100s of couples, my own marriage, my personal bout with depression that the way you think about yourself, marriage and spouse affects everything- how you feel (emotions), how you act and how your perceive each other and your general attitude. So it makes sense to pay attention your thinking in marriage.

What genre does your book fall under?  Marriage, family, self help

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Helping couples change the way the think and therefore change their marriage.

Will your book be self-published, published by a traditional publishing house, and/or represented by an agency?  It was originally published in 2009 by Moody Publishers. Now it is sold through Amazaon.com. Soon offered as online download.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?  About 6 months.

What other books would you compare this work to within your genre?  Gary Smalley's book about the value of your Heart in marriage.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?  My own personal struggles in marriage, with depression and working with other couples through the years. Also, I saw very little written about how your thinking, beliefs, values, perceptions affected marriage.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?  I'm a simple guy and offer simple solutions. If you are what you think and thats not good, change your thinking. If you do or think what you have always done or think, you will get same results. Attitudes matter. How you see each other affects everything. Make sure your beliefs, thinking, attitudes are based on facts/ truth not myths.
