A good friend of mine Jeff Kemp founded a ministry to help strengthen couples and parents. He's been doing this for years and has an incredible passion for it. Jeff is a former NFL Quarterback (SeaHawks/ Eagles) and was a winner on the field and off. He's a family man from the word go and wants to help others be champions with their families.
Jeff's website:
www.strongerfamilies.org is a great resource on both the marriage and parenting side. Sign up for his newsletter and one minute resource. They are great. Below is an excerpt from Jeff's email resource.
I highly recommend Jeff's ministry and reourses. Take a look.

Ike's Parents Took Action
Ike Ditzenberger has Down syndrome. He was also a high school varsity football player. His senior year, millions of people watched a
You Tube video of him scoring a touchdown at Snohomish High School in Washington State.
Four years earlier when Ike was a freshmen, his parents noticed that Ike's spirit was just draining away and there was no glimmer in his eye, no excitement. He didn't want to get up, he didn't
want to go to school, he didn't feel he had friends, or a meaning, or purpose.
So they went to the coach of the football team, Mark Perry, and they said "Coach, is there any way you could take Ike onto the team?" The coach did, and that sense of belonging, purpose, friendship, and camaraderie has changed Ike's life and a whole bunch of other people's.
What a lesson from Ike's parents to us: Notice your kid's spirit and do something proactive to give them hope.
