Mitch Temple Online: Bringing Hope Back to Your Marriage

Mitch,

I wanted to thank you for giving me all the advice you've given me.  I am sorry for all the emails I sent you, but I greatly appreciate the advice.  I have been in contact with Tony Staten about attending the July intensive and am going to be sending my deposit June 1st.  I have read the attachments that he emailed me and am struggling with something.  Like I've said in all 200 emails that I have sent you I really want to save my marriage and am willing to do anything and after praying about it I have decided that your intensive is something we need to do, but even as of tonight my wife doesn't seem interested in reconciling which of course means she hasn't shown that she wants to do anything to fix our marriage and avoid divorce, so my question is how do I get her to be willing to go to the intensive with me?  I read the attachment about getting somebody close to her to talk her into it, but there is nobody that I can talk to that will talk to her about going with me.  I was talking to a lady from my church, but she is really good friends with my wife and my wife didn't like us talking, so we (the lady and I) are no longer talking much because she said she agrees with my wife about us talking about the marriage.  My Pastor would talk to her about it, but my wife no longer goes to our church and hasn't talked to our Pastor since she said she wanted a divorce.  So, I have to convince her to go myself.

I do know that at certain times she has questioned whether this is right, but then she falls back to the thing she told me from the get go and that is that she feels God is telling her to divorce me.

Thank you again and I promise after this I won't bug you anymore about my marriage.

God Bless,

Cory

Cory, keep showing, proving to her your commitment to her, marriage and your determination to change. Those speak louder than words. Also your willingness to go to this length and expense may speak to your level of determination.

If there is a relative back home that may speak into this, that may help. Her previous Pastor may still help. He could at least leave her message and encourage her to give this a shot even as a last ditch effort. He can also speak into the God wants me to get a divorce issue.

Keep trying.

Mitch
